Just spotted this.....

A new medal is to be struck to honour members of the armed forces killed in action or as a result of terrorist attack. The Elizabeth Cross will be awarded to the families of those killed.

The  Elizabeth Cross will be available to the relatives of those killed in conflicts as long ago as 1948 and if you follow the link below you will see that the RFA falls into the catchement for the medal.

I have written to the medal issuing authority to ascertain the exact scope of the award and will post further information on this site as it becomes available. I will also write to the next of kin of the RFA fallen, where I have details, to ensure they are aware of their entitlement.
