Wave Ruler is set to fly the Staffordshire Flag during port visits in her current deployment to the South Atlantic and West Indies. CO Shaun Jones is quoted saying:
 
"It will be a pleasure to fly the county flag of Staffordshire as we enter our various ports during the deployment. The Naval Service is very keen to promote the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary outside of the traditional Naval ports and it is hoped that this initiative will prove positive, productive and enduring".
